My bridge was already somewhat high to begin with, and I didn't really want a very high nose, so I had clearly told them during the consultation not to touch the bridge. What I wanted was nostril reduction, reduction of the side nasal bones, and because the tip was a bit broad and flat, I had agreed to have the tip and columella done with ear cartilage. We had originally agreed to do that amount for 4.5 million won and I had already paid in full, but after the surgery they said they had also inserted about 4 mm of synthetic mesh into the bridge, so they wanted me to pay an extra 800,000 won or so. I hadn't wanted the bridge raised at all, but the doctor must have thought the tip ended up higher than expected, or felt that the bridge needed to be raised too, and did it while I was under anesthesia. I argued that I had said I didn't want the bridge raised, but since the surgery was already over, I figured there was nothing I could do and just paid it and left. But after the splint came off and the swelling went down a bit, I saw that the tip was too high too, so it looked a bit like an upturned nose, and the tip symmetry was really off, so I said maybe I need revision surgery. The doctor said, "As long as you bring the money, we'll do the surgery as much as you want." I mean, anyone can see the symmetry is wrong, so if you're going to do revision surgery you should just do it properly, but instead it was like, "Bring the money for revision surgery and we'll do it as much as you want." Then they said that the tip would come down a bit more with time, and that the crooked shape could be corrected by massaging it with your hands after surgery, so for now they told me to try shaping it by massaging the opposite side hard rather than doing revision surgery. I heard that and thought to myself, 'Do you really think that's going to fix something on a surgery that's already done?' But it had only been about a month since the surgery, so I figured I'd wait a few more months. I worked hard trying to shape it at home for several months, but... as expected, it was as expected. The tip didn't come down any more, and the crooked shape didn't straighten out at all, not a chance, it just stayed the same. It's most noticeable when looking up from below at the face, and because the tip symmetry is off, the two sides of the nose also look different even when looking at it with the head turned about 45 degrees, but at least from the front the original shape of my nose hides it somewhat, and nobody really looks at my nose from below anyway, so unless I point it out first, it's not so obvious to others, so I just left it at that. (Also because I have a lot of other surgeries I want to do and need to save money.)
