8 and a half years after surgery At the consultation, I heard about silicone for the bridge and other implants for the tip, and went ahead with it. Right after surgery, my nostrils were very uneven, but they said it was swelling and would get better, yet even after 8 and a half years they’re still severely uneven ;; Even right after surgery, the columella area felt kind of hard to the touch, but they said there was no problem, though it gradually started to feel worse. Around year 4 or 5 after surgery, I went back. The location had changed, and the surgeon who operated on me, Seo Won-hong, was no longer there. I also brought up my nose condition when I went with a friend for double-eyelid surgery, and asked the then chief director, Baek Seung-wook, about the columella area and the protrusion I could feel. He said the implant had pushed my own cartilage aside, but that there was no problem and it had turned out well, and even laughed when he saw my pre-op photos, saying this was prettier ;; Now, 8 and a half years later, the protruding and palpable area around the columella has turned darker, feels soft when touched, and seems to sink inward. I also sometimes feel tenderness at the glabella. It started turning red, and even a light brush against that columella area was so painful it brought tears to my eyes, so I rushed to a plastic surgery clinic nearby. Unlike what I had known, they suspected an L-shaped silicone implant, and said the palpable columella area was the shifted L-shaped silicone, that the nostrils are uneven and the nose shape doesn’t even look like a surgically done nose at all, and bluntly said it wasn’t pretty, then said it was contracture symptoms caused by the L-shaped silicone and recommended a quick revision; I was so angry and shocked that I asked whether I could check the past surgery records at the clinics where the two doctors are currently working, B.D.N. and S.N.Y., but they said Oscar had disappeared and it was now a separate clinic, so there were no records. The surgeon who operated on me seems to be specializing in liposuction now, and I keep wondering if I was just a guinea pig for his eye and nose surgery experience back then. Since I live in the provinces, it’s not easy to go all the way to Seoul to look into revision surgery, and my nose is getting worse day by day, so I’m losing my mind.
