I had a consultation last year. Overall, the doctor didn’t seem like the type to explain things first. He would just say which material would probably be suitable and ask if I had any questions. If I didn’t have questions, it felt like the consultation would just end. They also seemed to prefer donor rib cartilage over autologous costal cartilage here. The manager was kind and worked hard during the consultation. They said donor rib cartilage was cheaper than other hospitals, and that donor rib is usually cut from a whole piece and used as needed.... But I was disappointed that the doctor didn’t examine me as carefully as I expected.
