A few years ago I had buccal fat removal, back when I didn’t know anything and wasn’t scared. Since I was coming up from the provinces, I didn’t want to make multiple trips, so I even scheduled the surgery on the consultation day. But as soon as I got to the front desk, they checked my reservation and told me to go get medicine first without even a doctor consultation, so I went to the pharmacy and waited, then after washing my face I was sent straight to the operating table. There was no design work or anything like that. It was my first surgery since double-eyelid surgery, and I was embarrassed because several people were lying around in the operating room, and the doctor, while I was lying there right before the surgery, just said one line: “I’ll make you pretty~” and then I was anesthetized. But the anesthesia wore off in the middle of the surgery, and when I cried out in pain, they just said to hold on a little longer and didn’t give me more anesthesia. That was the shock.. I could feel them rummaging around inside my mouth removing fat as the anesthesia wore off, and it hurt I’m usually pretty good at enduring pain, but this hurt, and after it was over, a staff member supported me and I was lying in the two-person recovery room, while the person next to me was crying their eyes out from the pain We talked about how neither of us expected it to hurt this much, but isn’t anesthesia usually supposed to wear off after everything is done...? If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t want to do it here... And now, years later, both sides of my buccal fat are uneven and there’s no elasticity, so I keep getting lifting lasers.
