I had autologous dermis nasal bone osteotomy surgery at this clinic in 2017, and a revision surgery here in 2019. The reason for the revision was that once all the swelling after the first surgery went down, the nasal bones were asymmetric. The nasal tip was also gradually drooping, making the whole nose look longer. One side was a bit more sunken, and not only did the nose bend toward the sunken side, but that side also kept getting blocked. During the revision consultation, I mentioned the drooping tip, said I thought the nasal bones were asymmetric, and said the nose kept bending and getting blocked. They said the drooping tip could be corrected with revision surgery, but because my nasal bones were originally asymmetric, osteotomy would not correct the asymmetry. Instead, they would put fat into the sunken side. (They had not said during the first surgery that it was originally asymmetric, and they also had not said that asymmetry could occur after surgery.) After the second revision, I really like the shape of the nose, and the nasal bone asymmetry and the crooked look seem better, but from the first surgery until now after the second surgery, my nose has still been blocked. During the second consultation, my mother came in with me, and when she told the director that my daughter's nose looked crooked and seemed too droopy, the director shouted at my mother, asking what she knew to be saying that. I understand being tired from seeing many patients, but even now I do not feel good remembering being told, 'What do you know?' Unless I say it with my own mouth, nobody can tell that I had nose surgery. It is extremely natural, but I am currently receiving consultation at another hospital for nasal bone re-osteotomy surgery and am planning correction for the asymmetry.
