I got back-and-bottom canthoplasty here 5 years ago when the doctor was at Leart, and I had side effects like dry eye, frequent redness, and scar tissue. There were visible changes on the outside, so I don't regret having the surgery, but my eyes really redden easily and my eye health got worse. After the first surgery, one eye in particular was very swollen, and that eye was overcorrected, so the lower lashes poked my eye and I was uncomfortable for two months. I told the hospital, and they did a revision. That eye still gets red easily, and the minor pain lasted for over a year, and scar tissue remained. The scar tissue had almost disappeared after 5 years, but recently when I was tired and my immunity was low, herpes broke out only in that area and the scar tissue became noticeable again. I wrote this as detailed as possible for the right to know of other patients, but in conclusion, I don't regret the surgery, and the doctor did handle the aftercare responsibly, so that somewhat made up for it. Even if there seem to be no side effects at the time, I think it's important to decide whether or not to do it while considering the risk to your eye health that may appear years later.
