I had surgery in 2018 because of severe occipital asymmetry. In conclusion, I regret it. The range where the bone cement could be placed was limited from the start, so only the middle of the back of the head was filled and the side areas closer to the ears were barely filled at all, so it feels odd when I touch it. It is worse than what I was told during the consultation. The middle part became more protruded, but it is so hard, harder than bone, that when I try to get a scalp massage at the hair salon, I just skip it. More than anything, I have to explain it every time I get a brain CT during a health checkup, which is a bit embarrassing. Since it also leaves an incision scar, I would rather recommend filler for the back of the head. It was under sedation anesthesia, but I also hated the scraping feeling against the bone during the surgery.
