I had nose surgery in 2016 with a review-condition discount. I don’t even remember which doctor it was... did I see them once before surgery? There was no follow-up visit after booking to do detailed design or anything like that. They just said I’d see them on the surgery day, I think. I had a hump nose and a hooked nose, and they did osteotomy + silicone bridge + ear cartilage at the tip. Right after surgery, the shape was a bit disappointing for improving the hooked nose. Between 6 months and 1 year, as the swelling went down, the tip seemed to drop more, and from year 6 onward the cartilage and silicone twisted to the left, which caused the tip to show through. I’ve just been living with it, but it seems to be getting worse, so I’m looking into revision surgery! Still, I didn’t have contracture or other side effects.. I guess that’s fortunate? lol Anyway, the disappointing parts above... maybe the clinic was at fault too, but I think I was more at fault. I was too hasty without researching properly, and I don’t think I clearly conveyed exactly what kind of nose I wanted or how I wanted it improved. If you’re reading this and planning nose surgery, don’t just leave it to the doctor because you trust their aesthetic sense. Say very clearly, and more than once!!, what parts you really hate and what parts you like. Don’t just let it slide with “you understand, right?”... Even if you explain clearly and proceed, you can still end up needing re-revision after revision... Good luck, everyone.
