It's been 10 years since my nose surgery, and since the surgery I've had the side effect of a lot of runny nose, but I haven't had side effects like contracture, inflammation, or redness of the nasal tip. They said there's nothing that can be done about the runny nose.. As for the shape, from the very beginning when the first surgery was done, the columella was made too short.. so aesthetically that part isn't pretty I don't know if it's because my nostril positions were a bit asymmetrical from the start, but even after the nose surgery, the asymmetry still shows, and when the splint came off early after surgery, the bridge looked a bit crooked, and when they straightened it by hand then, I did think, is this really right..? But once the swelling went down, the crooked bridge actually looked better. The bridge was silicone and the tip was done with septal cartilage. There was no recommendation for alar reduction, but I keep wondering whether the result would have been better if I had done the nostrils too, as was recommended during consultation at another hospital, or whether not doing the nostrils like now was the more natural choice. There's no way to know, so I'll skip that. In the end, I don't like the shape of my columella, but the fact that I haven't had any major side effects like contracture for 10 years, and that they did the surgery naturally without overdoing it, is fine.
