The clinic review photos generally looked similar to the eye shape I want, so I booked a consultation with high expectations. I did make a reservation, but the wait was a bit long. First I had a brief conversation with the consultant, and then I went straight into the doctor consultation. The doctor was generally friendly, and I had gone with a friend, but they told us we could be seen together first, which was convenient. They marked several possible double-eyelid heights and explained what each one would feel like, so it felt like they were thinking through what would be better with me, and that part was good. I don’t remember the exact line well, but overall I felt it would turn out pretty. When I asked about the canthoplasty, they measured with a protractor and explained that statistically it would be good to do, but they didn’t give a clear standard for whether I must do it or should not do it, so that actually made me more conflicted. I kept thinking about whether I should do it or not, so the consultation felt a bit difficult. Later, during the conversation again with the consultant, they brought up eye-correction surgery, which hadn’t come up during the doctor consultation, and I was caught off guard. When I asked again later by phone, they said my eyes were the kind that don’t need it, but because of this process, my trust in the consultation dropped a little overall.
