My masseter muscles kept getting bigger, and I was stressed about my face shape because I developed resistance as a side effect of Botox, so after a lot of deliberation I got the procedure. I thought it would be safer than masseter resection and that follow-up care was available, and now I’ve only finished the first session and will be getting the second soon, but even after the first one I’m somewhat satisfied! I’m the type who doesn’t swell easily, but the swelling after the procedure was enormous, so for the first week I wore a mask and went about daily life, and from the second week the swelling was mild enough that I could get by without a mask. Even though I’ve only had the first session, my masseter muscles are definitely much smaller than my original face, and I think it’ll get even better after the second session. That said, it’s not permanent nerve blockage, so after the second session I’ll probably need to leave longer gaps and get it done once in a while.
