They explained things just like I had seen on YouTube. Maybe they were busy, because while I was in the consultation, there was something I wanted to ask but there was no chance to ask before the explanation kept going. The explanation only covered how the tip of the nose was supported and lifted; there was no explanation about the bridge. So after the explanation ended, when they asked if I had questions, I said, “I saw on YouTube that if only the tip is lifted, the detached empty space in the bridge fills in on its own with autologous tissue. What exactly is that autologous tissue made of? I’m curious whether it’s fibrous tissue or exudate that fills in.” They told me I didn’t need to know that, said they had already explained everything, and told me that if I couldn’t understand it here, they had nothing more to say. The consultation was conducted with the door open, and maybe it was just my imagination, but it felt like a staff member was listening right next to the door. Then the staff member said, as if they had been waiting, that there was another appointment, called the doctor, and as they walked out, the consultation ended. They manage the YouTube comments a lot, and if a comment similar to the question I asked appears, you can see that instead of explaining the principle, they only answer in terms of results, like, “Don’t worry, no one has come back for revision in 10 years.” It seems way too risky to go ahead with surgery just believing it will work out somehow, so I probably wouldn’t do it here.
