This review is written to protect consumers’ constitutionally guaranteed rights. It contains only facts, with no slander of any kind. It does not refer to any specific person and only describes my own experience. To put it briefly, I canceled the surgery date, which had been set for a month after my first consultation with Berry Good Plastic Surgery, on the day of the surgery itself. Since this was surgery involving a scalpel to the body, I thought carefully for a long time and visited more than 10 hospitals before making my final decision, but even though this caused time and financial losses, I thought canceling was the right choice. I felt that, looking at the hospital’s system and attitude, it would be hard to expect a responsible response if the surgery result or any problems arose. After the consultation, I visited on Monday, September 15, 2025 for surgery. Until then, I faithfully followed the hospital’s designated tests and instructions. I was told that if I visited after 2 p.m., the surgery might be canceled, so I arrived around 1:40 p.m., but the staff at the front asked for payment first without accurately understanding my surgery details. Because the aesthetic and functional procedures were done together, payment was split into two parts, but I was asked for an amount different from what had been agreed. While they said they would check, I was moved several times between different spaces (lobby → recovery room → consultation room → restroom → lobby → restroom), but there was no clear progress during the more than two hours I waited. Later, when I asked them to check the situation, I was told in a way that made it seem like the long wait was my fault, which was uncomfortable. After that, while waiting in the consultation room, someone other than my assigned coordinator came and asked me to sign the surgery consent form. The consent form included wording that I had received explanations from the doctor about the materials or surgical method, but in reality I had not received sufficient explanation. I also looked at the chart and computerized records showing my surgery details, and there were surgery items included that I had not requested. When I asked about that, it initially sounded as if they had planned to proceed with it, and after checking, I was later told that those items would be excluded. I became increasingly anxious that something I didn’t know about might actually be carried out. Even so, I completed the various document signatures, smell test, guidance consultation, design consultation, and nasal endoscopy imaging. Finally, I tried to make the remaining payment, but again I was told an amount different from what had been agreed. I was told to go back to the restroom while they checked, and the same confusion repeated itself. At that point, I felt the hospital’s system was not organized, my anxiety grew, and I ultimately requested to cancel the surgery. Only then was I able to speak directly with the assigned coordinator, and after that another staff member came in and spent about 40 minutes trying to dissuade me, even suggesting that they would give me priority consideration for postoperative care. There was also a remark along the lines of “this could go as far as the Consumer Protection Agency or even legal procedures” regarding the refund process, which felt like a huge burden from the patient’s perspective. In the end, according to the rules, I received a refund of the same-day payment excluding the reservation deposit, and the consent forms and materials were confirmed to have been destroyed on site at my request. The reservation deposit was handled so it could be used again if I rebook later. I liked that the consultation was honest, not exaggerated, and professional, and the assigned coordinator was also kind. However, the attitude that seemed like blame-shifting during the day-of experience, repeated payment confusion, unnecessary movement between rooms, and the opaque system were enough to destroy my trust. I hope they improve.
