I had surgery without an implant, but there is mesh inside. For someone who has no trouble breathing, they say insurance covers it, and after doing the functional nose surgery together, when I said my left nostril felt hard to breathe through, the doctor just said, "You can breathe with your mouth closed, right? Then that's fine," haha. For reference, I couldn't breathe through my nose at all for the entire month, but they said it was swelling. I’m showing symptoms of empty nose syndrome. My nose feels burning, and unless I inhale forcefully, I can’t really feel air coming in. It feels a little suffocating, so I’m scared when I sleep.. I wear a mask to sleep... My nose and throat are so dry... I taste blood every day.. I even bought an ear endoscope to look inside my nose... The mucous membranes are red and there are tiny bleedings...... As for the shape... the bridge and tip of my nose got thicker... The foreign-body sensation is severe too, but I think I should have researched more... Osteotomy, hump osteotomy, spreader graft, bilateral septal extension, trimming part of the alar cartilage while tying the cartilage (What does trimming the alar cartilage even mean??) Septoplasty with resection of the deviated septum, and outfracture of the inferior turbinate during inferior turbinate surgery (No, why didn’t they explain this first??) I cry every day and regret my decision..... I think the doctor should learn to be more objective about their own skill.
