For my first surgery, other hospitals said the septum was usually large enough to use, but here they said my septum was on the small side and absolutely couldn't be used. But when I asked around elsewhere, they said my septum was an average size and not so small that it couldn't be used, so I was confused, though maybe the doctor has a high safety standard for septum size. So they suggested either placing only ear cartilage and silicone, or doing it with autologous costal cartilage. Still, I don't really trust the durability if only one piece of ear cartilage is placed, so I probably won't have the surgery. There is pressure to leave a deposit, but it's not to the point of being uncomfortable. The counselor shows the materials directly, which was very helpful, and explained that everything, including CCTV and anesthesia, was safe, so I felt reassured.
