I went to get a consultation for removal and revision surgery for a nose that became short and turned up after surgery long ago (not contracture). They recommended revision surgery rather than removal, and explained it as a safe surgical method that would produce a less flashy result than other places. They said they do not use materials that could cause problems later, such as silicone or donor dermis. They expected that ear cartilage alone would be enough to lower the nose, and that there would probably still be a lot of septal cartilage left, so that was the surgical material that appealed to me the most. They said the capsule should not be completely removed, and that only the nasal tip should be partially removed, because if the bridge were removed the skin would become too thin. This part seems to vary by hospital, so I still don’t know what the right answer isㅠ The director didn’t proactively explain everything first; it felt like they gave basic explanations and then added more after I asked questions. I think it would have helped more if I had brought a list of questions and photos when I went for the consultation ㅎㅎ The estimate was on the lower side among the places I visited, and there was no waiting time either.
