At first, when I consulted with the nurse, I said I wanted a semi-out line and front canthoplasty, and as soon as I went into the exam room and he saw my face, he said that if I wanted semi-out, I’d have to open the front part a lot. So I said, “But I’m scared it’ll become too much...” and then he said, “Then do you want a long eye where even the inner corner isn’t visible? Do you think something like that is possible? Whether something is too much or not is subjective,” and so on. I wasn’t being difficult or anything, I just said one thing and got ten lines of criticism back… I said I’d like understanding even if I don’t know much since this is my first consultation, but even then he looked puzzled like, “Why are you saying that now?” and then seemed to be saying that everything I wanted was realistically too much and wouldn’t match my facial balance, but the tone was so sharp that I felt really awful. He kept opposing everything I wanted and didn’t make any separate recommendations, so I said I didn’t understand why I was even having a consultation and honestly that the director’s tone was unfamiliar. Then he said he speaks that way because he’s in the position of teaching, and that younger MZ generation people didn’t get educated like this when they were young, so blah blah~ From that, I felt like he was just looking down on me and conducting the consultation. I wasn’t even absolutely rejecting the director’s opinion, but even when I just asked questions he kept answering in an aggressive way... If he realizes that most of the patients who come here say his tone is uncomfortable, shouldn’t he be able to fix it? Separate from skill, I feel like he’s someone who has no ability to reflect on himself, so all thoughts of surgery vanished. It was shocking, though it was educational too... my first cosmetic consultation was really shocking...
