When I was young and didn’t know better, I had an endoscopic forehead lift that the manager recommended, and afterward my scalp sensation became abnormal. If I touched the right side of my forehead, I’d feel it at the crown, and my crown felt numb and all over the place. When sensation really slowed down, I got so irritated and stressed that I kept hitting my head or banging it against a wall and cried for a long time. The stress was terrible. Even when I complained that I had no sensation, the doctor just kept saying, “Oh, why is that~?” People who had their whole forehead exposed and reduced recovered sensation, so why wouldn’t mine come back? How would I know... There was a screw left in during the dissection, and I thought maybe removing that screw would help, so I had it removed, but the sensation stayed exactly the same. I was told that because the dissection was done while looking with an endoscope, the nerves wouldn’t be touched, so I believed it and went ahead. But now I doubt whether the nerves were really untouched. The doctor told me to bring proof that I had no sensation. In reality, there’s no way to prove this lack of sensation. Even at a university hospital they said there was no such test, and neurosurgery said there was nothing they could do. I could only blame myself for deciding on surgery so impulsively in my early 20s without looking into it properly. I asked for a refund or for them to restore my sensation, but I didn’t even receive proper assistance. A few years later, I went to a specialty lifting clinic instead and asked whether there was any way to improve it. The doctor said it seemed like scar tissue had built up and was pressing on the nerve, then pressed on my forehead and scalp several times and gave me an injection in the forehead. It really felt like that blocked nerve? sensation? had opened up, and it improved. After about six injections costing around 150,000 won each, I got back about 75% of my sensation, though not 100%. The lifting doctor proposed a solution as soon as they heard my story.. It doesn’t make sense that the doctor didn’t know the improvement approach as a doctor. A hospital I want to curse forever. If you’re not good at a field, don’t mess with it.
