I went for under-eye fat repositioning consultation, and although he didn’t mention any specific hospital, he said that it was theoretically possible but not doable. So I asked him to explain how he would do it, but there was no explanation. He just kept repeating, ‘You just flatten and fix the fat. I do this surgery a lot, so I’m good at it, and it’s permanent.’ He said to ask questions, but I need to know how the surgery is done before I can ask questions, and there was no detailed explanation of the procedure. And when I asked one question, he looked a bit dumbfounded and brushed it off like, ‘I’ve tried all that and it still won’t work’... So I was scared to ask anything else, and I still didn’t know how the surgery would be done. The consultation just ended with, ‘It works well. There are no side effects. It’s permanent.’ It felt like a waste of the consultation fee. But most older doctors don’t seem to explain things well. From the patient’s point of view, it would have been more convincing if he had explained how he would do it to my face and why there would be no side effects. He seems experienced and has a lot of years behind him, so I think he’s probably good at it, but for some reason I’m still hesitating.
