At other hospitals, they only talked about ear cartilage and septal cartilage, But Dr. Hwi did not recommend using septal cartilage and recommended autologous costal cartilage instead. I was a little surprised by that part, but he said that if I wanted to proceed the way I wanted, autologous costal cartilage would be more recommended. He said it didn't matter which cartilage was used and kept emphasizing that the surgical method was what mattered..! I was really drawn to how it seemed like the doctor was trying to care for the patient as much as possible and also trying to accept the patient's needs. I think if your own needs are clear and definite, he will reflect them better. Even if you're not definitely going to have surgery here, I recommend going for a consultation, and definitely checking out Dr. Hwi's blog.
