The person who said they would carve the areola of an unmarried young woman... The doctor was a professor and had written a lot of papers, so I went in with very high expectations. But as I shopped around, I realized that I had a very prominent pointed chest, so it would be difficult to make the shape come out nicely. Maybe that’s why they said they would carve the areola? They even drew a picture to show me. They said they would carve the edge around the areola and flatten it... I was like, huh? when I heard that surgery method for the first time, but I figured that since they were so smart, it must be fine and went in. Then while I was visiting other clinics, I found out that if the areola is carved, you can’t breastfeed. WTF. I almost ended up living with a disability while trying to get breast surgery... I guess they said that because they specialize in reconstruction, but it’s such a massive exaggeration. People planning to do it here should think carefully.
