At some point after my rhinoplasty, the tip of my nose began turning red frequently, and I also felt as if the silicone along the bridge was becoming visible, which kept bothering me. At first I thought it might be temporary and planned to watch it a little longer, but I began to feel a foreign-body sensation in my nose and became worried that it might lead to inflammation or contracture, so in the end I had all the implants and cartilage in my nose removed. The most important thing to me while visiting doctors for consultations was not how attractive my nose would look after removal, but how many nasal implant-removal surgeries the doctor had performed. The materials used in the first surgery differ from person to person, and the current internal condition of the nose and the extent of removal required are also different, so I considered other people’s reviews for reference only. What I considered more important was whether the doctor explained specifically what materials had been placed in my nose and how they would be removed. Rather than simply looking at before-and-after shapes, I thought it was important to prioritize whether the doctor had handled many removal cases and whether the surgical method was tailored to my nasal condition. At first after the removal surgery, the shape of my nose felt unfamiliar, but as time passed, I gradually adjusted and it became more comfortable. Most of all, I am satisfied that the psychological anxiety caused by the persistent redness at the tip and foreign-body sensation has decreased. If someone around me says they are getting rhinoplasty, I absolutely try to talk them out of it. I guess I will not be going in and out of this community and the removal forum anymore. I hope everyone considering removal has a successful outcome.
