I got a consultation for rhinoplasty because I was bothered by a bulbous nose and a low bridge. They took an endoscopy of my nose and explained what surgery I should have while looking at the structure of my nose together with me. Seeing that picture, they even caught that I have seasonal rhinitis, which surprised me lol I only went in thinking about bridge augmentation and nostril reduction, but they said nostril reduction wasn’t really necessary, and instead almost everything else would need to be done except for that... They said the tip would be supported with autologous costal cartilage, then auricular cartilage would be placed on top to make it soft, 4 mm of silicone would be inserted into the bridge, lateral osteotomy would be done to make it slimmer, a bit of fatty tissue would be removed, and there’d be reverse-rotation lengthening surgery and columella lowering... ㅋㅋㅋㅠㅠ They said my septum is too small to use, so it probably can’t be used, and that I could choose between donated rib cartilage or autologous costal cartilage. Donated rib cartilage has a slightly higher risk of side effects than autologous costal cartilage, while autologous costal cartilage is relatively safer but costs +100. The doctor really spent a long time with me. I think I spent almost 30 minutes just with the doctor. They even drew pictures like a lecture and explained each step of how the surgery would go, which made me feel their expertise and I liked that. The manager was very kind, and there was absolutely no pressure to leave a deposit! Before the doctor’s consultation, the manager also looked at my nose and said nostril reduction probably wouldn’t be necessary, which increased my trust. The cost was higher than I expected, and I’m still a bit scared, so I didn’t have the surgery, but if I make up my mind I’d like to go back for another consultation. + At another hospital, after a CT scan and consultation, they said my septum was big... so I don’t plan to go back for another consultation
