For my first surgery, I booked for August and paid a deposit of 500,000 won. As the surgery date got closer, something came up overseas, and I became anxious about what if something went wrong if I went, so I wanted to decide carefully and know more, and when I said I wouldn’t go through with the surgery, I was told my case looked like one that would turn out really well, which was disappointing. They said there would normally be a charge for a second consultation, but they would let me consult with the director again for free, so they told me to come once more, get it checked, and think about it. I went again. After the second consultation, they said the surgery date could be pushed back a long way, and since I had other schedules and needed time to think, I moved the surgery date to December. In the director’s consultation, I was told that in my case it would be impossible to improve it as much as I wanted, which bothered me. So in the middle, I made time to get another consultation at a different hospital, and that hospital seemed more suitable for my case, so I had the consultation and got the surgery there. (I was going back and forth overseas in the meantime, and with job-seeking and an interview coming up, it was hard to fit in surgery, so I couldn’t contact Mano right away.) Now, in November, I contacted Mano and requested a refund of the deposit. (The contract says 90 percent refund if canceled 3 days before surgery, so since it’s one month before the December surgery date, I requested a refund.) The reply I got was that the full 500,000 won was non-refundable. The contract originally said the refund was based on the surgery date, so I naturally thought I’d get 90 percent back since my surgery date was in December. But absurdly, they said the 90 percent refund only applied to 3 days before the first August surgery date, and since it was already November, they couldn’t refund it. They never told me in advance that it was based on the first surgery date, and now they’re saying that... If they had told me earlier, I would have canceled the surgery instead of postponing it from August to December. I’m upset at the manager for not telling me and saying it was okay to postpone the surgery date. I’m leaving this review in the hope that people who go here won’t lose a lot of money like I did.
