I had surgery around November 2016. Back then, because I lacked information, I foolishly went into the consultation with the fixed idea that only an incision method was possible for my eyes. The director also said to me, “You’re going to do an incision, right?” and I replied yes without even thinking to ask whether some other method might be possible, because I assumed that was the only option for my eyes. The anesthesia was non-sedated local anesthesia, and they played hymns throughout the surgery. Between the fear and the pain during the operation, I honestly thought I was going to heaven. The line was thicker than I expected, and maybe because it was overcorrected, my eyes looked round and bulging. I already had some facial asymmetry, but my eyes ended up looking too uneven, so I went back a year later. The director looked at them too and said he’d do an AS, so I received the free AS, but yes, they’re still uneven and actually look even stranger than before. It’s been six years since the surgery, and the double-eyelid surgery is very obvious. My eyes clearly look like “I had my eyes done.” I suppose part of it was my fault for not researching enough in the past and rushing into surgery, but still. I’m still saving money while looking for a clinic for revision surgery. If you have big, protruding eyes and think you’re the type who will clearly do well with double-eyelid surgery, I’d recommend it, but if not, I suggest thinking more carefully.
