A long time ago, my line was too high, so after surgery to lower the line, I’ve been living with lagophthalmos and lid retraction. I asked for the double-eyelid line to be lowered just a little, but it got lowered too much and became an inner double eyelid, so when I told them, they said for the as that the skin at the inner corner of the eye was sagging, so it needed to be excised, and then they even did a skin excision... I had lagophthalmos, but they excised the skin.
