Ever since I decided to get surgery for my bulbous nose, I had been reluctant about not only external implants but also grafting autologous cartilage onto the tip of my nose. I did not want it to look like I had had cosmetic surgery. I came here because I felt that Homme & Femme was almost the only clinic that could satisfy these needs of mine. Director Hwang was skeptical about using external implants, autologous cartilage, or even grafting a columellar strut at all in surgery for a bulbous nose. The reason was that patients with bulbous noses already have big noses, and if you put something else into an already big nose, it could make the nose even bigger. In the end, I decided to have only cartilage repositioning and cartilage tying, but I became concerned that the surgery would be performed through an open approach, so I ultimately gave up on having the operation. It was an unavoidable choice because I did not want a scar left on my columella. Although I decided not to have the surgery, I was deeply moved by how, throughout the consultation, they kept records of everything and tried to reflect the patient's requests as much as possible.
