An old abdominal liposuction I had in the past may have been the cause, but over time my skin got all wrinkly and saggy, and the stress was making me feel absolutely insane. In the early stage after surgery, the swelling would not go down at all and I was so puffy that I kept thinking, did I mess up again.. is this not going to work? I was extremely anxious and worried inside. Still, I trusted the clinic and wore the compression garment diligently, and I also went to every bit of aftercare they provided. As the residual swelling went down, the bumpy areas smoothed out completely, like they had been ironed flat. After having a baby, I used to wear only loose clothes to hide my wrinkly stomach, but after surgery my waistline was shaped so beautifully that these days I can wear crop tops however I want. What I like most is that the doctor brought out my belly button, which had been buried in fat and had no shape at all, into such a pretty vertical shape..! What the doctor said during consultation, that because I hated scars I would end up going around in circles with procedures and still eventually have no choice but to get a tummy tuck, makes sense to me now. If I had kept hesitating and not had the surgery, I think I would still be depressed from covering my stomach all the time. These days, every time I look in the mirror, I think I really made the right choice getting the tummy tuck!!
