I got double eyelid surgery in 3rd grade of middle school from a recommendation by an acquaintance. Right after surgery it looked natural but had a heavy feeling (because of ptosis, but they didn't do the eye-opening correction that was actually needed). Before a year had even passed, the right eye was about to come loose. Not long after, the left eye was in the same situation. I kept hearing things like, "You look stupid," "Open your eyes a bit," "Are you sleepy?" "At this rate your eyes will droop vertically," and similar meddling comments until I was sick of them. One of my friends who had surgery here had one side come loose too and just lived with uneven eyes, while another got buried sutures plus eye-opening correction somewhere else. Five years later, during consultation, I realized I had only needed eye-opening correction. But I didn't know that, so I asked them to re-do the double-eyelid line. The director got offended and started acting weird in both words and behavior. "The line is pretty, what's the problem?" He handed me a toothpick and said, "Then you make the line." My mom did not come into the consultation room that time. I was holding a mirror in one hand and trying to shape the toothpick with the other, while he was staring daggers at me from the front. It didn't go well. After the director sighed, "Ha...", he took the mirror away and suddenly started drawing on my eyes with a black marker before going into the operating room. Anyone could see he was angry. Result: the revision surgery was a total disaster. One bad choice ruined my early twenties in tears. I still didn't know why, but they thought I had brought two men to come complain to the clinic, so they kept glaring and put us in the last slot. Then the director's usual snide, confrontational attitude started. My father and the director ended up shouting and fighting.. Why are they shooting themselves in the foot? I had not even once thought about demanding accountability. I only wanted to solve the problem. What the director said to my father: "Because you are like that, your daughter turned out weird too." According to the director, I became some obsessive little brat who only fixates on double eyelids. In the end, they concluded that the whole family had problems and kicked us out. Among the things the director said, one was, "To fix the problem you're talking about, she needs eye-opening correction." Maybe they got angry in advance because they thought we would ask for it as aftercare. Then why didn't they do it at the beginning? When we asked that, he shouted that in the past I wasn't at the level that required eye-opening correction. Sigh.. Anyway, I eventually got my third revision at another clinic and it was a success.
