I went for a nose consultation. Since it was my first surgery, he looked inside my nose with an endoscope and kept adding things, saying I had a deviated septum and uneven nostrils, and then quoted me 700 or 800. Is that what a first surgery usually costs? He said the functional part would be covered by insurance and told me to check into it. Even with insurance, I'd still have to pay about 500. Later, after I finished talking with the doctor, I told the manager separately that my bridge already seemed to be relatively high, so maybe I didn't need that part, and she said, "No, but? From what I see, you need it." They kept recommending unnecessary surgery and didn't really listen to my opinion. I went to an ENT clinic just in case, and they said I did have a deviated septum, but it wasn't severe enough to correct.
