I had cheekbone surgery ten years ago. It has been so long that I do not remember it well, but the director seemed cold on the surface yet calm, so I felt at ease getting such a major surgery. Of course, if you asked me to do it again, I could not. As I have gotten older, some sagging in the cheeks has come, which cannot be helped, but I am living well without any major complications.
