I read Director Choi’s blog posts and studied a bit about his style and the surgery before going. I recommend making a list of questions before you go and asking everything you want to ask. If you prepare in advance and organize your questions, he explains everything in a fairly gentle and kind way. What was unusual was that he said there would definitely be no widening of the nose with double jaw surgery. He said he had never received any complaints about the nose widening. When I consulted other oral and maxillofacial surgeons, they said there was a very high chance of some nasal change because it could not be predicted. Anyway, at another hospital they looked at my 3D CT and said my cheekbones were small and my soft tissue was thick, so the risk of sagging was high and the effect would be limited, so they did not recommend cheekbone surgery. But here they said the risk of sagging was also low (thanks to their skill lol) and that they could reduce it further. They said they would lift even the fascia upward to reduce the risk of sagging. Hmm, I think I need to look into that more. But since he is not a dentist or an orthodontic specialist, the bite-related explanation felt somewhat weaker than that of oral and maxillofacial surgery specialists (dentistry). Just in case, I asked whether I was a case that could do surgery first, and he said that could only be determined after a detailed examination by an orthodontic dentist. Also, for double jaw surgery he said the chin would need to be moved, so the chin work was added to the estimate too At the other several hospitals I consulted, chin work was not mandatory, and if it was needed, it was simply included in the double jaw surgery cost... The consultation manager was kind and tried to explain everything in as much detail as possible. I was also surprised to hear that a close family member had undergone double jaw surgery here under Director Choi. Some other consultation reviews said the manager was a little older and not very comfortable with computers, and did not show the review photos, but that was not the case when I consulted. She showed me the review photos well on the computer and gave me a consultation that was basically no different from other hospitals.
