I had an upper canthoplasty. I was treated by Dr. Yu, and it seemed like there was about an hour and a half to two hours of waiting on the day. Dr. Yu doesn't seem to recommend overdoing surgery in general. I wanted to open it more, but he stopped me and said no. The result came out reasonably well. However, if you want a dramatic change, you probably need to do double eyelids together... It does look natural! But there is a bit of a scar left, more than I expected. Since they cut with a blade, they were honest about that too, so I recommend getting a consultation and then deciding.
