I had breast surgery 10 years ago. It was through an armpit incision, and I had smooth cohesive gel implants. At the time, I was hospitalized for one night and two days after the surgery. I had a painkiller infusion, but the pain was so severe at night that I couldn’t sleep. Another person in the same ward who had the surgery said their pain wasn’t that bad. The pain lasted for about 2 weeks. The drainage tube filled up too. I was able to go back to daily life after about a month. These days they say the technique is better and recovery is faster, but I think pain and recovery time vary a lot from person to person. If you’re naturally frail, I think recovery is slower too.
