It has been about a year and a half since I had surgery with the chief physician at [Clinic A]. I proceeded without an implant, and during the consultation, the kindness of the manager and the fact that the chief physician took his time and did not rush the consultation gave me trust, so I went ahead with the surgery. However, honestly, my satisfaction with the surgery was not high. The dorsal hump disappeared through osteotomy, but both the front and side views, which I initially thought were just swelling, continued to look thick, and I was not happy with the line. In fact, my nose before the surgery was slimmer, to the point that my nose became thicker after the surgery. When I returned a year after the surgery because I wanted to consult about this part, I was very disappointed. The reason I chose [Clinic A] was the hospital itself, the manager, and the trust and kindness shown by the chief physician, but when I came back for aftercare purposes, I felt very strongly that they treated me differently from before the surgery, just like other hospitals do. I came to find a solution, not to blame the chief physician, but in many ways it felt as if I had come for that purpose. The manager's tone and expression were really cold, and the chief physician also did not think of a solution but only said it couldn't be helped, and said that the reason my nose looked blunt was not because of the surgery but because I seemed to have gained weight, and that must be the reason. At the time, I had maintained the same weight until a month before the consultation, and after carefully watching the changes over that year, I made the difficult decision to have revision surgery, so being told it was because of my weight was a bit shocking. Also, I didn't know before or after the surgery, but only at the one-year visit did they tell me that something had been packed into the tip of my nose to make it stronger. I had made it clear that I was getting nose surgery for cosmetic purposes, and above all emphasized the slim front view, so I honestly could not understand why they made that decision. What I learned through surgery with the chief physician at [Clinic A] and two consultations is that the chief physician definitely prioritizes safety more than others and pays a great deal of attention to the functional aspects of the nose. That is why I have been able to get by without major complications. But my nose had no functional problems, and I do not really understand the surgical method of making it stronger by adding something that aesthetically works against that on a nose like mine. I would recommend this to people who prioritize function and safety without complications over the line or appearance of the nose, but if you think a lot about the cosmetic side of the nose, it would be better to have a deeper consultation with the chief physician!
