The doctor did point out the complex part I had in mind. But the surgery method he proposed was one I had never heard of at any other clinic, and it didn't feel like he had much interest in each individual patient. The consultation director seemed to have a great deal of pride and affection for the director, and since it is a rather large hospital, I thought the guidance they provided was organized.
