Mid-June 2023, I had a consultation with Director Shim Jeong-hwan at Weverse. My third nose surgery, which used autologous costal cartilage, failed badly, so my nose became overly flashy, the septum was bent, and the nostrils were asymmetrical. I wanted correction and as natural an outcome as possible, with no implant. The silicone that had been inserted was 2 mm, so I also wanted it removed if possible. I was looking for a clinic that could give a refined look, and since he graduated from Korea University Plastic Surgery and had worked in natural-style surgery, I booked a designated consultation. The doctor was extremely meticulous and kind, and he spent a long time on the consultation and explained things in great detail. He recommended increasing the height, keeping the silicone, using autologous costal cartilage under general anesthesia, and lifting the nasal tip more. That surgical direction did not match what I wanted. But it seemed like he hadn’t handled autologous costal cartilage that much, and he said he would use surgical cases as presentations for an academic society, so I didn’t want to become a lab rat for research, so I gave up... ㅜㅜ I had a difficult case and needed a doctor who had done many surgeries like this and had lots of experience, because this had to be my last surgery... As I was going down in the elevator and looking again, it seemed like this doctor was more famous for eye surgery than for nose surgery.
