Looking at older reviews, there were some negative comments saying the director’s consultations or the staff were unfriendly, that they focused on Chinese patients, and that the place felt like a factory.. but I came in for a consultation during these times, and everyone was extremely kind. I got a consultation for my first nose surgery with Director Seo Man-gun. The consultation manager had been explaining what to do beforehand, but the director didn’t like that. When I first met the consultation manager, I thought the director would be the one to proactively recommend materials like ear cartilage or septal cartilage for a first surgery. But when I actually went into the consultation and showed the nose shape I wanted, he explained kindly and in detail that because it was such a flashy nose, even with septal cartilage there was a high chance it would droop later because of my bulbous nose. Since it’s a clinic specialized in revision surgery, he said he had seen many cases where people had surgery with donated rib cartilage and then needed revision because of absorption issues, so they only do surgery with autologous rib cartilage, and for my case he said the columella would need autologous rib cartilage. I really trusted the director, and I liked that the clinic system runs centered on the patient and the doctor. Still, the premium fee based on the director’s experience was steep, so I don’t think I’ll be able to make it my final choice. For reference, Director Seo said he only does surgery on two people a day. He also said that if you have surgery with autologous rib cartilage, there is another director who specializes in harvesting it. If you make a reservation on the same day, or pay a deposit in a similar way, the price does drop by 10%, but it seems difficult to get it reduced beyond that. Maybe because of the director’s experience and word of mouth, it felt like they didn’t really need to lower it, since there are plenty of other patients willing to pay for the operation anyway? (Not in an annoying way, but in a confident way.) As of the day I went for the consultation, the earliest surgery date was a month and a half later.
