I consulted for functional rhinoplasty and cosmetic rhinoplasty revision. The coordinator was kind and asked what was uncomfortable. Then I had a consultation with the doctor, and for materials he said only autologous rib cartilage was possible. When I asked whether donor rib cartilage was an option, he said it was hard to obtain and that only autologous rib cartilage could be used. Also, because of side effects from my first surgery, the septum is crooked, and since of that I was wondering whether I also needed functional rhinoplasty. That was why I looked into functional rhinoplasty too, but then I thought that aesthetically, if you are doing a revision anyway, shouldn’t the crooked part naturally be straightened as well? I started to think I might not need functional rhinoplasty after all. It was the highest estimate among the places I visited.
