It’s now been more than 11 years since I had my inner corner epicanthoplasty. Overall, I’m very satisfied. I had a wide distance between my eyes and an epicanthal fold. I really wanted to have surgery, but I didn’t want it to look too obvious from being done too aggressively, and I wanted to keep my individuality while making it look very natural. At that time, the hospital introduced me to something called a V-incision, and that was what we did. I believe the same method is still used now. What I’m satisfied with is how natural it is. Usually when people get inner corner surgery done wrong, as the surgical area heals, the skin fills back in and the inner corners become blunt, right? When the inner corners become blunt like that, they don’t look refreshed anymore and just end up looking like obvious surgery, but my inner corners never became blunt. There’s no scar either, so it doesn’t look like I had surgery at all. If I don’t say anything, nobody knows. The reason it was done with only a small incision is because I wanted it to stay very natural, but if you look at old photos, the before-and-after difference is definitely there. After surgery, there was redness and a slight raised bump around the inner corner area, and it lasted quite a while. It wasn’t to the point that it looked obviously operated on, but I think it lasted about 2 years. It wasn’t uncomfortable. There’s no trace left now. Whether on the street or on social media, I see quite a lot of women and men whose inner corner surgery didn’t go well. When I see people with scars, or people who had it too aggressively and it looks obvious, or people whose eye shape isn’t smooth and has become uneven or blunt, I can’t help but feel sorry because it doesn’t feel like someone else’s problem. If you’re thinking about inner corner surgery, please look at lots of before-and-after photos at the clinic, search for reviews, do plenty of research, and decide carefully. After all, the eyes are one of the features people look at the most, and they’re really important. I hope everyone chooses their clinic well and becomes naturally beautiful!
