I went in for a consultation because the visible lacrimal caruncle was bothering me a bit and I was wondering if I should get correction. They said it was indeed opened too wide. Rather than saying it was a normal intercanthal distance, they explained clearly that the intercanthal distance should be adjusted to match the width of my face, and I liked that they told me what it would look like if it were closed. They said the change in impression wouldn't be very big, and that I should think of it as being slightly covered in a round-eye shape from my current eye line. Other than the stitches after surgery, there wouldn't even be tape or anything like that, so it's making me want to do it..
