I went to the last of five consultations. The first four places gave me a quote as soon as I sat down. They told me how much each surgery would cost, and how much it would be if they tied it up. But they did not really explain why I looked tired. Here, they took photos first and put them on a screen so we could look at them together. Then they asked me to lift my eyebrow myself with my finger. They said that if my eyes felt more comfortable that way, then the problem was not the eyelid but the eyebrow. It was the first time I heard that even with the same symptom, the surgery changes because there are three different causes. They said my eyelid skin was also a bit stretched and my eyebrows had come down, so they needed to look at both and set the scope. They also said there was no need to rush right now. They told me not in vague terms, but with exact dates, when the swelling would go down and how many days I should take off from work. They even explained when and how many follow-up visits I would have after surgery before I even asked. That made me feel like things were pretty well organized. I have not decided yet. But I feel like I came away knowing what I need to decide.
