I had surgery yesterday, so honestly there isn't much to write, but I'll write anyway! My surgery was at 2:30, but they told me to come by 2, so I got there by 2. I changed clothes, took photos (probably because I agreed to photo use!), and after sitting in the director's office for a bit, the director came in. Other people said they spent like 30 minutes just on the design, but for me, just like during the consultation, he marked the line, then dotted over it with a name pen, had me look in the mirror again and asked if this line was okay, and then we went straight into surgery.
It was sedation anesthesia + local anesthesia. In reviews, people said they had vomiting from sedation anesthesia, or later they were half-asleep so they couldn't answer properly and couldn't remember, so I wondered whether I should just do local anesthesia. But on the day, I was so nervous and scared that I went ahead with sedation anesthesia. But as my consciousness kind of drifted far away, it felt like being on drugs... (I've never actually done drugs.) Anyway, when I was lying in the operating room, the nurse told me I had to keep consciously reminding myself that this was the operating room and that I was having surgery, so I tried hard to stay aware. Because of that, I remember seeing the director's eyes, and it felt like I had the surgery while fully sane.
Maybe because the line was set low to begin with, it didn't look excessive at all at first glance, and I immediately felt that once the swelling goes down later, it would look natural. Even my mom had been really worried that I might end up with sausage eyes or eyes that looked too much, but as soon as she saw me, she was convinced and said, hmm, that won't happen, it'll look natural. Instead, I'm worried that once all the swelling goes down, it might become an inner double eyelid...ㅠ
I'm practicing opening my eyes before getting the stitches removed! Some say if you open them with too much force, the skin gets crushed along the stitch shape and leaves a bad scar, while others say if you don't practice, the scar won't remain as an incision line but as a broad surface scar. Everyone says something different, so I'm opening them with a moderate amount of force (uncomfortable, but not painful).
I'll come back with the next review in 1 month, when quite a bit of the swelling has gone down! Swelling, please go down quickly!
