I had Gore-Tex removed at a clinic in early August, and the nasal tip was a re-revision surgery.
- In 2018, I only had silicone inserted (it was silicone all the way to the nasal tip) - In October 2022, I had revision surgery at the same hospital with Gore-Tex and septal cartilage
The reason I used Gore-Tex was that it’s an implant with lots of tiny holes, and they said my own tissue would grow into those holes, making the shape much more natural than silicone. So they said it wouldn’t feel like an implant..
But there’s always a reason when people say not to use something. From before even 1 year had passed after surgery, my nasal bridge started to become crooked and ache. When I looked into hospitals to remove it, the parts I had known as advantages turned out to become disadvantages..
After surgery, I had even all the taping removed on day 9. But what the heck.. When I looked at the nasal bridge from the side, it was bumpy; I thought my life was completely ruined, but as the swelling went down, it became normal. After passing week 2, I could see it getting better day by day, so from then on I felt more at ease..
I still think I was so pathetic and dumbfounded for having revision surgery again at the same hospital, and even paying full price for it.. But I’m living with the mindset that it turned out well now, so all’s well that ends well.. Still, since it’s only been a month, it’s a bit hard to say anything definitively.
It won’t suddenly become weird in shape again after being fine like this now, right?
