Liposuction Reviews

I’ve had other surgeries too.. but this one is really infuriating (Sigh…)

The surgery was scheduled for 8:00 PM. I was told that the compression garment company closes at 16:00, so I had to visit at 15:30. 1. Right after I arrived at the hospital, during the consultation about costs, while looking at my legs, they said that since this was a revision surgery, they would make the incision in the same place as the previous one. - After the surgery, there are 11 new incision sites. 2. When paying, I asked for 12-month installments with my Samsung card, but they said the current device only allows 6 months, and if that was burdensome I should contact the card company and have it changed. (They said the contract signed with Samsung Card and the plastic surgery clinic only allows 6 months, so the number of months could not be changed.) - Since this was a high-cost surgery, installment payments could be important, so I felt this was a bit irresponsible. 3. After that, while filling out the consent form with another nurse, she explained the possible side effects after surgery with photos and details, without holding anything back, to the point where I didn’t feel the need to look up side effects separately online. That was actually reassuring and nice. 4. After the consultation, payment, and procedures, I received my prescription, got the medicine from a nearby pharmacy, and since I live in Incheon it was an awkward time to go back and forth, so I killed time nearby and went in right on time at 8. 5. I waited from 20:00 to 22:00 for what they called a vitamin injection. Around 20:00, the director said it would probably be about an hour’s wait, but only after waiting two hours did they finally do the design for my legs and pelvis with a magic marker. Then it was another hour before I was finally taken into the operating room, and the surgery ended at 03:00. - Before going in, I had asked them to tell my guardian in advance because I needed to give an approximate time, and they said it would probably be around 1 to 2 o’clock and definitely not past 2, but it went past that anyway, 6. I had tape on the fat-grafting area and gauze on the incision sites, but I only found out when I asked that the fat-grafting tape should be removed after a week. (I think you have to be careful when removing the fat-grafting tape. I’m not sure whether I couldn’t remove it properly or whether it was the existing wound, but I have scratched wounds and blisters around the gauze area.) I felt the post-op instructions on the paper were somewhat lacking. 7. They said the compression garment may feel a bit loose because the fat-grafting area has shirring in it. 8. I had many questions after surgery, and I felt they tried to answer kindly and not too late, which I appreciated. 9. The day after surgery, the person who helped with the consent form and guidance, not the one who handled the cost consultation, called to check on me. She asked whether anything was uncomfortable and took care of various things.

On 2023.04.28 at 11:00, I visited the hospital to remove the stitches and first received radiofrequency care. While waiting to remove the stitches, the manager I had consulted with was there, so I told her that regarding the incision sites, this is really not acceptable and she should admit it and apologize. She said she couldn’t admit it. She said that, logically, once you go into surgery, an incision is naturally made, so why was I getting so angry about that? She asked if something bad had happened outside. I said it wasn’t that I had never asked about the incision sites; I was asking about something that would leave a wound on my body and could leave scars, so how could I not be sensitive? It was obviously something to be sensitive about, and she said that if I had asked, she would have told me everything during the consultation, and that there was no way she wouldn’t have said it, so she still couldn’t admit it. She even said she saw the design for my surgery that day, even though I was designed at 22:00 and went in a little before 23:00.. Could she have some magic to turn people invisible..? She said she was there late that day too, but I did not lose consciousness before surgery either.. So I said that if she couldn’t admit it, then I had nothing more to say and would not speak further, and she kept coming over to talk to me. I said again that if she couldn’t admit it, there was nothing more to say, so please stop talking to me. Then she said to the other nurses, “What, is today my speech-out day or something?” and told me, “Please don’t get angry like that anywhere, and lower your voice,” in a mocking tone. So I said I didn’t want to shout either, so please stop talking to me.

Then the other nurse who had helped me with the consent form came over and asked what was going on. She said there must have been a communication problem and apologized, saying that scars may remain, but this is how they can end up looking, showed me photos, checked the incision sites with me again, and comforted me by saying it was okay.

Except for the person who handled the cost consultation, the other nurses were kind, to the point that I felt sorry for getting angry. But even now, thinking about that mocking attitude makes me angry again
