This is what I was told during a rhinoplasty revision consultation at ㅊㄷㅊ
Current nose shape - The alar rims sit lower compared with the columella - If the silicone is removed, the sense of loss will be very big (my natural nose basically had almost no glabella bridge) - The nasal tip is blunt, and bulbous nose correction seems necessary
Surgical method - They recommended silicone for the nasal bridge, but when I said I didn't want that, they recommended donated fascia - Use septal cartilage + ear cartilage for the nasal tip - Alar lifting (= nostril-wing lifting), internal incision
Other - Uses sedation anesthesia - Has CCTV - Recommended functional surgery (inferior turbinate resection?) because most of it would be reimbursed - Surgery cost within 5.5 million won
This is the first place, out of the places I've gone around consulting, that recommended alar lifting I've already heard elsewhere that my columella is slightly pinched and sunken, so I already know that, and it's also true that my alar rims sit lower compared with my columella I do like that they pointed this out clearly.. I'm not someone with an extremely short nose, but my philtrum is on the long side, so my midface looks long ㅜㅜㅋ So I feel like if I do alar lifting, it might actually make me look even longer
At another hospital, they said my columella seemed slightly sunken from opening the nose during my first surgery So they said it might be better to lower the columella a bit and improve the nasolabial angle instead They said the sunken columella can be improved.. so I'm not confident about what I was told at this consultation Is there anyone here who, like me, has a long philtrum and long midface and had alar lifting?
