My under-eye bags look puffy and make me look tired, so I went around to a few clinics for consultations about under-eye fat repositioning. But even after the consultations, I still don’t really know where I should get it done;;
1) Apgujeong ㅎㅂㄴ Director ㄱㅎㅇ I saw it as a plus that it’s a one-doctor clinic and specializes only in eye surgery. In particular, rather than double eyelid surgery, they seemed specialized in anti-aging procedures like lower blepharoplasty and under-eye fat repositioning. The consultation was fairly thorough, too, but I didn’t really know what would be good to ask, so I mostly just listened. I was quoted 1.5 million won for under-eye fat repositioning. They said they only do one surgery in the morning and one in the afternoon per day, and the surgery date would be available about a month after the consultation date. Oh, and they said they don’t use sedation anesthesia here and do the surgery under local anesthesia. But if a clinic doesn’t list an anesthesiologist in the medical staff introduction, who does the anesthesia and how??
2) Gangnam Station ㅇㅇㅋ Director ㅊㅁㅅ I went here too because it’s a private clinic specializing only in eyes, but it did seem like double eyelid surgery is their main thing more than under-eye fat repositioning or lower blepharoplasty. Here, an anesthesiologist works together with the director. They said they put you under sedation anesthesia, give the local anesthesia injection, and then operate once you’re awake. It seemed surgery could be done within about 2 weeks. The director’s consultation here was also quite thorough. But when I search the clinic name on Google, related search terms like viral marketing and blacklist pop up right away, so that made me a bit uneasy; the quote here was also 1.5 million won.
3) Sinsa Station ㅇㅇ Director ㅈㅅㄹ I had a consultation with Director ㅈㅅㄹ, who used to be at ㅌㅇㅅ and moved to ㅇㅇ. The consultation wasn’t bad, but they said the surgery would be done under sedation anesthesia the entire time. (I didn’t see an anesthesiologist listed in the medical staff introduction here either;;?) But I heard that places that do cosmetic surgery under sedation anesthesia should be suspected of ghost surgery, so it feels a bit uncomfortable. The clinic website does say they don’t do ghost surgery... The quote was 1.2 million won on the condition that my eye photos be made public.
4) Gangnam Station ㅇㅂㅈ Director ㅈㅇ This place has 6 directors, and the chief director ㅅㅈㅇ and Director ㅇㅎㅈ, who does a lot of under-eye fat repositioning, are well known, but consultation bookings were really backed up, so I booked with Director ㅈㅇ. The consultation wasn’t bad, but they said I have flat anterior cheekbones with no volume and recommended doing anterior cheek fat grafting together. I don’t really want to change my face shape, so I declined that. For surgery, like ㅇㅇㅋ, they use sedation anesthesia, then local anesthesia, and operate once you come back to consciousness. They said if I have a really hard time, they can add more sedative anesthetic. They also have an anesthesiologist. The surgery schedule seemed available from next week, and here they quoted 1.1 million won on the condition that I post photo reviews on Gangnam Unni, Babitalk, cosmetic surgery communities, etc.
The safest(?) choice seems to be ㅎㅂㄴ, which specializes in under-eye fat repositioning, but I also wonder if I should go to a cheaper place. But I don’t really feel comfortable making my photos public either... What criteria would be good to judge by? Even after getting consultations, they all explain things similarly, so I don’t know;;
