This is already my second post.
My surgery is scheduled for early June.
I visited a total of 4 places,
and after Clinic A and the previous clinic,
this time it’s Clinic B and Clinic C.
Before writing, I’ll say that I have a high nasal bridge with a hump nose.
1. Dr. Kwon at Clinic B
First of all, he is very, very kind.
He explained in detail what my nose needs, and he often said things like, “Do we really need to?”
He answered, “If you want to emphasize naturalness, just shave the hump! If we put in silicone, it could look unnatural, but if you want it, we plan to start with a low silicone implant and tailor it to the shape of your nose.”
He looked closely at the CT, and he also used Photoshop on photos of my face to personally draw the expected nose shape while explaining it.
This part really swayed me. I was impressed by how detailed and kind he was.
For the nose: septal cartilage + silicone + hump shaving; if the support is weak, donated costal cartilage may be used. Total 2.9 million KRW, and an additional 900,000 KRW if donated costal cartilage is used.
Deposit 300,000 KRW / even if you cancel, they said you have to pay a 10% penalty up to 3 days before.
2. Clinic C
Here, there is one head doctor!
I also have allergic rhinitis, so I looked into functional rhinoplasty.
They recommended the three representative rhinitis-nose procedures and said insurance reimbursement is possible. Maybe because the one doctor handles all the consultations, it felt like it went by a bit quickly. Compared with Clinic B, I got an unfriendly impression, so I didn’t say much and left.
Representative 3 rhinitis procedures: 3.5 million KRW / insurance reimbursement possible, hump shaving + septal cartilage + nostril/alar base: 3.2 million KRW.
That was the estimate I received.
Personally, I’m really torn between Dr. Byeon at Clinic A and Dr. Kwon at Clinic B..
I heard large hospitals handle follow-up well, so I’m also leaning toward Clinic A... Since surgery is coming up soon, I’m especially getting more conflicted.
*I’m scheduled for a second consultation with Dr. Byeon at Clinic A this time. Are there any questions I should ask?
1. Since I have allergic rhinitis, whether septal surgery is an issue
2. Whether a natural-looking nasal bridge can be created..
3. Etc... I’m worried because once I actually go, I completely forget my list of questions
