I had rhinoplasty twice, and because of the silicone, I even developed inflammation, so swelling in the nasal bridge and blood pooling kept happening repeatedly. My nasal tip was also pointy and obviously looked operated on, which was stressful, and my nasal obstruction was severe too, especially on the left side, where it felt stuffy. My nostrils had become narrower, so it was hard to breathe. This time, I had the silicone removed and redid the surgery with autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty. I had the surgery at a clinic, and since my septum had melted away, they rebuilt it with autologous costal cartilage, and I also had functional rhinoplasty and nasal valve surgery together. Since it was autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty, they harvested two pieces of rib cartilage, but I was told the cartilage was small and weak, so the surgery took quite a while. The director said there was a lot of scar tissue, so they cleaned it up as much as possible. They also explained in advance that because my skin is thin, the nasal tip could become red or show through. They said they completely rebuilt the inside of my nose, and also corrected the deviation inside my nose. I was a bit worried after the splint came off, but once the stitches were removed, the swelling started going down faster. The nasal tip is not pointy and came out rounded, which is the look I wanted, and the bridge is also built up with autologous costal cartilage in a substantial way, so it feels natural even when I touch it. My nasal obstruction also feels better than before, so it seems like the functional rhinoplasty is working. The director looked at everything in detail from the consultation onward, and I’m satisfied with the result, so I’m posting this.
