Review of Two Facial Contouring Procedures at an Oral and Maxillofacial Clinic

Hello. It has been 6 months since I had two facial contouring procedures (square jaw and chin) at an oral and maxillofacial clinic. I had long been concerned about facial asymmetry and an angular face shape, and before I knew it, 6 months had already passed since I underwent square jaw surgery and chin-tip surgery at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. I am leaving this review by organizing the changes I have experienced so far, in the hope that my personal experience may be of even a little help to those considering surgery or interested in facial contouring.

The biggest reason I decided to have surgery was the asymmetry I noticed whenever I looked in the mirror, my angular face shape, and my retruded chin. Because my lower facial line was not smooth, my impression looked strong, and the proportions of my chin tip always felt off, which had always been a complex for me. To improve these issues fundamentally, I proceeded with surgery after receiving a professional consultation.

Now, 6 months after surgery, I can really feel a clear difference when I look in the mirror. At this point, it seems like almost all of the swelling has gone down, and compared with the 1-month and 3-month marks, my current facial line looks much more natural and has settled very well. My overall facial contour feels much softer than before surgery, and especially as my chin tip became more three-dimensional, the chin tip that had looked long was shortened appropriately, making my facial proportions much better.

The recovery status that many people worry about has also improved to the point where everything feels the same as before surgery now. When I touch the intraoral surgical scar with my tongue, there is no foreign-body sensation or discomfort at all, and the sensation in my chin tip has also returned to the same as before surgery. When something touches my chin or when I scratch the skin, all sensations feel normal, so I feel very relieved. My mouth opening has also fully recovered to the point where I can comfortably eat foods that require opening my mouth wide, and I have no jaw pain or joint discomfort at all.

Personally, I am still a little cautious about overdoing it, so I am avoiding intense movements or actions that could directly affect my face. Other than that, I am comfortably going about daily life, eating, doing light exercise, and sleeping without any worries. I have been living with great satisfaction because the asymmetry and face shape that I had worried about for a long time have improved. This was my 6-month review, and I feel that the long recovery and waiting period were worth it.
